The Role:

At Vivint Smart Home, our mission is to redefine the home experience through innovative technology and services, crafting smarter, greener, safer homes that provide peace of mind and monthly savings for our customers. In support of this mission, the Innovation team seeks a Release Manager to play a critical role in maintaining Vivint's industry-leading standards by ensuring excellence and innovation in every product release.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively in a highly autonomous yet collaborative environment.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication for all planned releases across the organization, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Track and manage all components within each release using established management tools for comprehensive oversight.
  • Ensure complete and accurate deployment of builds to the appropriate environments.
  • Monitor release rollout performance and conduct post-release performance assessments to identify successes, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Schedule and conduct post-release evaluations, communicating outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
  • Conduct comprehensive tracking and analysis of key metrics post-release to verify performance against objectives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of releases and their dependencies to promote transparency and foster collaboration.
  • Partner closely with the Customer Experience team to rapidly identify, address, and resolve issues encountered during or after releases.
  • Collaborate with the release coordination group to standardize and simplify release processes across teams, reducing complexity and enhancing efficiency.
  • Regularly engage with stakeholders from Product, Program, Engineering, and Quality to maintain alignment on release strategies and outcomes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing releases within autonomous, collaborative environments.
  • Proven track record coordinating and communicating complex release schedules.
  • Familiarity with mobile applications and embedded firmware release processes.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of source control management systems and branching methodologies.
  • Passionate about continuous process improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Experienced in agile methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with excellent risk analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous process enhancement.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
