Director of Pediatrics – RN (Full-Time, Days)
Location: Austin, TX
Compensation: Up to $173,000 base salary
Shift: Monday to Friday (No Weekends)
Sign-On Bonus: Leadership Incentive Bonus Eligible

We are hiring an experienced Director of Pediatrics to oversee operations across Pediatric Med Surg, Pediatric ICU, and Pediatric Emergency Services. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven, collaborative RN leader with a proven background in pediatric healthcare management. You will be responsible for clinical oversight, staffing, performance improvement, and strategic planning in a growing and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day operations across multiple pediatric units including Med Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through planning, staffing, and performance oversight
Develop and monitor budgets, operational goals, and regulatory compliance
Direct nursing practice, implement policies, and uphold evidence-based care standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance efficiency, patient flow, and care coordination
Coach and develop nurse leaders and foster a culture of accountability and innovation
Track key performance indicators, support compliance initiatives, and drive patient experience outcomes
Oversee staff competencies to ensure appropriate alignment with pediatric acuity and care needs
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact accepted with Texas conversion within 60 days
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare leadership role
Minimum of 3 years in a Director-level role overseeing Pediatric Services required

10-bed Pediatric Med Surg Unit
6-bed Pediatric ICU
10-bed Pediatric Emergency Department
2 Nurse Managers (ED & PICU) report directly to this role
